I am updating another earlier review I posted about Dunca's Automotive. The first review I wrote concerned teh SMOG Test that I was charged for but not given the opportunity to have a Technician fix the issue, which was a very simple adjustment to the Idle Speed. Emmissions were fine, the Idle was high. Anyways I felt I was being ripped off as I paid $162.00 for nothing, no fixes nor any Re-Test ability for either free (as a lot of places do) or at a discount from the retail price I paid. Basically it was thanks see ya later! So I wrote a review based on that situation. A couple of days after I wrote the review I got a call from the owner of Duncan Automotive, Dave. He sincerely apologized and as was noted in my review, he understood the information I wrote about while being correct as it happened, was not the shops policy at all! The young woman at the counter who charged me out, was supposed to offer me the adjustments at a fee and a retest at a reduced price as well. She was new and did not know or understand the policy. Dave reiterated his apology and said if I would come back for a retest he'd make sure we were all on the same page! I talk for sometime with Dave and he's really a good guy! We both had a lot in common as we both own shops etc. I agreed to come back and this Monday October 5, 2026 at 10:00AM I arrived at Duncan's Automotive to have the SMOG test repeated as I personally corrected the high Idle on my own. My MR2 passed and Dave came out to talk to me about the adjustment and cost. He charged me a small sum and I was perfetly ok paying that! If was fair and he kept his word about his shops policy and again apologized for any misunderstandings! My Father, whom I know as a wise man, once said to me, "Sometimes you cannot judge a place by how good of a job they do, you have to judge them on how well they take care of a problem instead!" Very wise, and in this case, very true! Dave came through and I am grateful for Dave taking the time to call me and discuss my "Bad" review! Everything is copacetic now and as a customer, I am very pleased and satisfied with the work that was done and outcome of all things related to teh test... Thanks Dave!

Great customer service and they tried to squeeze me in for a smog on a full day which I appreciate . But when I showed up they told me it would be $170 for a smog test plus fees. I understand it’s more because it’s older but when I called three other places in the area nobody charged close to that price. I left went down the street and paid half the price out the door. Again great customer service but ouch on pricing

The staff is very friendly and extremely through when discussing possible repairs. They also kept me updated .They're my go to for any car repairs !!

I went in for brake inspection and potential service and oil change. My brakes were making some squeaking noise. I for sure though I needed new brakes. They completed the inspection and determined my brakes looked good with plenty of wear left. They could have mislead me into getting new brakes but instead changed my oil and filter and sent me on my way. 5 stars given for their honesty, custom service and reasonable pricing!!

Took my daughter's car here to have several things checked and have some repairs made. Very professional, courteous, and decent pricing. I would highly recommend them
